Pool di solidarietà

The Pool di Solidarietà was born in 2003. Engaged in the social commitment in our territory and in the world southern countries, the Pool (pool.solidarietà@petroltecnica.it) receives communications, requests and cooperation proposals as far as solidarity and voluntary projects are concerned. Starting from 2005, to promote employees’ direct involvement, we decided to include in the project the voyage costs for those employees and collaborators choosing to spend their leaves in volunteering in the activities supported by the Pool.
Independently from the company trend, every year the Pool receives resources in absolute management autonomy. Until now, thanks to this contribution, we have supported projects with guidelines on:

Environment
Solidarity
Culture

Some of the projects we successfully concluded:

A view from the bridge: looking at the river
Environmental education project involving students attending the secondary school. It fully entered in the educational planning aiming to survey the environment of Marecchia river, addressed to a systematic study of its flora and fauna.

“Harambee” the irrigation project in Nyandiwa plane
The drought striking every year Kenya heavily affects most of the areas, with serious consequences for  cattle, as far as food and people are concerned. The target of our concluded project was to create a pilot field to irrigate cultivations.

WWF oasis of Russi Commune
An oasis is a natural area where biodiversity and ecodiversity conditions are protected and preserved. Russi oasis witnesses the conservation of the nature, grown spontaneously inside a former quarry and around the archaeological remains of a Roman Villa near the built-up area. Along these years, the WWF oasis of Russi Commune has undergone episodes of spills of oil substances whose effects had repercussions on the entire ecosystem of the oasis. This has generated a cooperation proposal with WWF and Petroltecnica, through the Pool, offering a sum to cover all the research expenses.

Meetings in the Mediterranean
The Pool has been offering a planning, logistic and economic support for many years to this project,whose assumption is based on the need of a mutual knowledge and dialogue to facilitate people meeting, as an antithetic solution to fight.

La Corte Theatre in Coriano
The choice to finance La Corte Theatre in Coriano belongs to one of the guidelines of the Pool di Solidarietà: culture. We think it is important to take part in the cultural life of a community where many of our collaborators belong to.
