PRESS RELEASE | Petroltecnica – Terra Therapy, forty years in service of the environment
ON JUNE 6 AND 7 AT ROCKISLAND IN RIMINI, TWO DAYS OF REFLECTION AND CELEBRATION FOCUSED ON ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY AND NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE PROTECTION OF ECOSYSTEMS.
AN EXCLUSIVE PREVIEW OF THE “FIREFIGHTING ROBOT” FOR HIGHWAY EMERGENCY RESPONSE AND A DOCUFILM ON THE COMPANY’S FOUR DECADES OF COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY.
Forty years in service of the environment. These are the years celebrated, on June 6 and 7, by “Petroltecnica–Terra Therapy”: the Rimini-based company operating internationally in the protection of environmental resources, first and foremost soil and water, through continuous research into operational methodologies and technological solutions for remediation and ecosystem restoration.
To mark the occasion, “Petroltecnica–Terra Therapy”, part of the Wolftank Group since 2024, is organizing a two-day event at the evocative Rockisland venue in Rimini, on the eastern pier, bringing together experts from across Italy to reflect on issues of safety, health, and the environment. It will also be an opportunity to retrace, together with the entire company community, the path that has made it a benchmark among Italian companies in the field of sustainability, thanks to its valuable know-how ranging from infrastructure diagnostics to emergency response in the event of spills or other risks to natural resources and human communities. This success is also due to “No Man Entry” technologies that “Petroltecnica–Terra Therapy” developed well in advance as early as the 1990s, based on mechatronics and highly automated systems, as well as the continuous experimentation of methods for the remediation of contaminated land with a focus on regeneration and material recovery.
The program begins on Friday, June 6 (10:30 AM – 4:00 PM) with the ninth edition of “Safety Day”, the event that “Petroltecnica–Terra Therapy” dedicates to prevention and safety, reaffirming the social responsibility values that have always guided the company.
The session will be moderated by Donatella Giacopetti, Head of Health, Safety & Environment at Unione Energie per la Mobilità (Unem). Following institutional greetings from Roberto Bozzi, President of Confindustria Romagna, and Valter Rocchi, CEO of Petroltecnica, the discussion will begin with Alice Parma, Regional Councillor of Emilia-Romagna and member of the Territory, Environment and Mobility Commission, who will present strategies for extreme events two years after the devastating flood that affected the region. This will be followed by Marco Morabito, Senior Researcher at the CNR and head of the Workclimate project, focusing on the impact of thermal stress on health and work productivity. Next, Lieutenant Colonel Nino Tarantino from the Ministry for Ecological Transition will discuss the experience of the Special Commissioner’s structure in managing irregular sites and contaminated areas. The morning session will conclude with Matteo Lorenzi, Tunnel Manager at Autostrade per l’Italia, who will address highway safety through an important technological innovation presented in preview at “Safety Day”: the “Firefighting Robot”, which will be displayed and described in detail as a cutting-edge solution in road firefighting services, representing the latest outcome of long-standing expertise in this field.
In the afternoon, discussions will resume with Alfredo Paganelli, HSE Manager at Petroltecnica, focusing on the company’s long-standing commitment to promoting a culture of safety and health. This will be followed by Giuseppe Capaldo, Head of the Integrated Management System at Trenitalia, presenting a case study on prevention and responsiveness as key elements of safety. Lisa Casali, Pool Manager at Pool Ambiente, will discuss insurance tools for risk protection. Finally, Calogero Adamo, HSE Manager of the Wolftank Group, will present an overview of the hydrogen strategy within the group’s industrial vision.
The event serves as a preview of the “Festival of Industry and Business Values” promoted by Confindustria and will be streamed by the culture and society magazine “Sapereambiente”, one of the most attentive journalistic voices covering responsible business. It will also offer the opportunity, on the second day—Saturday, June 7, again at Rockisland—to experience a rich program of memories, spontaneous events, and artistic, scientific, and cultural contributions from dawn to dusk.
At the heart of the program will be the world premiere of the docufilm “The Care of the World. 40 Years of Terra Therapy”, retracing the company’s history as an example of a small and medium-sized enterprise from Romagna—representing the productive backbone of the Italian economy—against the backdrop of the major changes of the past four decades. All this will take place within a shared moment of celebration with employees and their families: a chance to look back at what has been achieved since 1985, and above all to build bridges toward the future, imagining how “Petroltecnica–Terra Therapy” can continue to write this story, playing a leading role in addressing the environmental and social challenges of our time.
