Detailed design of a DNAPL recovery system

Design of a recovery system for highly flammable dense non-aqueous phase liquid contaminants (DNAPL). Critical evaluation of data from MIP geoelectrical surveys, analysis of historical documentation, and processing of hydrogeological and hydrochemical data. Classification of the different exclusion zones. Design of the nitrogen-based atmosphere inerting system, as well as the mechanical and electrical works. Definition

Onshore and offshore monitoring plan

Execution of the Environmental Monitoring Plan (EMP) within the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) framework for expansion works inside the refinery. The EMP included onshore environmental investigations through air quality monitoring using fixed and mobile stations, as well as noise and vibration monitoring. Offshore monitoring activities were also carried out, including water column analysis, marine sediment

AS/SVE remediation systems

Construction of 8 remediation systems using Soil Vapor Extraction technology, with 13 extraction points distributed across the entire area of a former refinery designated for the production of additives for lubricating oils.

Remediation of groundwater contaminated by tetrachloroethylene

Implementation of an in situ Remediation Action Plan for groundwater contaminated by tetrachloroethylene. Design and execution of pilot tests for the selected remediation technology, aimed at full-scale sizing of an Air Sparging and Soil Vapor Extraction remediation system, consisting of 30 injection and extraction points.

Design and remediation using bioventing

Design and remediation of environmental matrices—soil/subsoil and groundwater—following a spill from a section of an oil pipeline located in a difficult-to-access area. The remediation was carried out in multiple phases: from Dig & Dump (D&D), to the removal of the free-phase product in the groundwater, to the design, installation, and operation of a bioventing system.

Remediation within a thermoelectric power plant

Within an operating thermoelectric power plant, we carried out soil remediation using Dig&Dump technology in the area where a large-diameter above-ground tank had been located. The activities included the construction of storage bays, the removal of interfering above-ground structures, and the demolition of the concrete containment structures of the tank.

Remediation for the redevelopment and conversion of a former industrial area

The activities involved the remediation of the soil matrix and post-operam monitoring of groundwater. The intervention included excavation works up to 9 meters deep, the detailed design and construction of a support structure with micropiles reinforced with beams and secured with two levels of strand anchors. The excavated soils were managed in storage bays and

Diagnostics and remediation of underground storage tanks

For an international Oil & Gas client, we carried out in Iceland a campaign of diagnostics and remediation of numerous underground storage tanks at fuel distribution facilities, using our No Man Entry technological solutions and in compliance with local regulations.

Remediation of large above-ground storage tanks

Within a refinery, we carried out the remediation of a large above-ground vertical tank with a capacity of 60,000 cubic meters, containing sludge, slop, and process catalyst residues. The remediation was carried out in two phases: first by suction of the pumpable sludge, and then by removal of the non-pumpable sludge using a hydraulic Bobcat.
