Petroltecnica publishes its first sustainability report
The report prepared by Petroltecnica consists of a comprehensive document based on the analysis of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as defined by the United Nations, which first highlighted the close interdependence between the human, environmental, and social dimensions—originally considered separate and independent. The Sustainability Report is a complete tool that allows Petroltecnica to monitor the impact its actions may have on each specific area. It also makes it possible to consider and assess, through an integrated approach, the interactions between the three dimensions analyzed, enabling stakeholders to quickly access the information they need to evaluate the company’s overall performance. The report has been prepared in accordance with the standards provided by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), based on the principles of materiality of business activities and stakeholder engagement.
We are proud of this significant achievement, made possible by the collaboration, commitment, and enthusiasm of the colleagues involved—made even more valuable by the fact that the report was prepared voluntarily by Petroltecnica and not due to any legal obligation.
We are aware that today it is no longer possible to consider sustainability issues irrelevant within our business. Petroltecnica, inspired by its Terra Therapy mission, works to protect the environment and safeguard natural resources for the benefit of today’s citizens and future generations. Now more than ever, the major challenge we face is to draw insights from the sustainability data we have presented in order to develop new ways of working and innovating our service production processes, increasing business performance while respecting the environment, the people we work with, and ensuring responsible and sustainable financial management.
Petroltecnica’s Sustainability project does not stop here. We are organizing a public event to present the report in early October in Rimini. In addition, we have already planned the development of a three-year Strategic Sustainability Plan, and starting from the first months of next year, we will begin preparing the 2022 report.
